The essential tools for this technique are a heat gun, anti static bag, an embossing pad, (or pigment inkpad), embossing powder, and a heat resistant surface. I normally use a heat sheet. I also have a creased sheet of scrap paper by the side of me.
Firstly, give your cardstock a quick swipe with the anti-static bag as this removes static from the card so that the embossing powder doesn't go where it's not supposed to. You are then ready to stamp your image using the appropriate inkpad and normally a coloured pigment ink or embossing pad, the reason for this is that this type of inkpad dries slower than a dye inkpad. Then with your creased piece of paper handy, sprinkle the embossing powder over your stamped image catching the excess in your piece of creased paper, which you can then place straight back into the jar. At this point check your work to make sure there are no flecks of stray embossing powder. If there are, just gently flick your card and if this doesn't work then use a fine paint brus
